Kia Ora and welcome to my Manaiakalani Class OnAir episodes for 2021. My name is Elena Terekhina and I am a year 3 & 4 teacher at Glen Taylor School in Auckland, New Zealand. This is my sixth year teaching at one of the Manaiakalani schools and my first year in a digital 1:1 Chromebook classroom. In my practice, I implement the Learn-Create-Share pedagogy and promote student-driven learning as this approach fosters their creativity and curiosity, makes their learning more fun and relevant, and encourages my students to develop their own agency and critical thinking skills.

During this year, you will see my whole-class and small group lessons based on individual learning needs. My students will access their learning through our class site. This means that our learning programme is visible and accessible anytime from anywhere. We will use digital tools to create and share our learning on our class and individual student blogs.
