Kia ora and Welcome to My Class on Air page for 2025! 

My name is Samantha Jones and I am a year 3-4 teacher at Te Rito Harakeke Marshland School in Christchurch, New Zealand.

I was lucky enough to be a Class on Air teacher back in 2022 and now I am back again to create new content as I feel this is a powerful tool in supporting both kaiako and tamariki. 

The Pūkeko Hub is made up of 77 children and 3 teachers including myself. Children move across the various spaces in our hub to learn, create, and share with one another. 

We are lucky enough to have 1:2 digital devices in our environment and our Year 4 children are encouraged to bring their own device in order to even better this ratio. 

This year, I am looking at the ways in which I can use my hub learning site to provide visible teaching and learning opportunities. Alongside this, I will be including elements of the Manaiakalani Digital Fluency Intensive (DFI) within my episodes to better my students' digital skills.
