Kia ora and welcome to my Manaiakalani Class OnAir episodes for 2022. This is my fifth year teaching at Pt England School in Auckland, New Zealand. It is also my fourth year of teaching within an ILE in a digital 1:1 learning environment with four classroom spaces who, at times, also work together collaboratively.

This year I have a wonderful group of Year 2 learners who are part of a team of mixed Year 2 and Year 3 classes. The students will use an iPad to Learn, Create and Share their mahi, access their learning and be exposed to a variety of Science based lessons during the course of this year.

Throughout my lessons you will see a combination of small group work, collaboration and working in pairs to promote problem solving and participation in practical experiences. These tasks will encourage an Inquiry based teaching approach, focus on language accumulation and cater to a student’s individual learning needs with support when required.
