Direct Instruction
This lesson shows the students using the app 'Explain Everything' to show their understanding of the zones of regulation. The students have learned about how to identify their feelings and levels of alertness, use strategies and tools to regulate their responses, and problem-solve positive solutions.
In the activity the students are matching their facial emotions to the different coloured zones.

Reflection
As you can probably hear in the episode there was a lot of laughter in this lesson. The students clearly showed their understanding of our prior zones of regulation learning. They are growing confident with explain everything and have enjoyed learning new digital skills. Next time, I would like to have included more think, pair, share opportunities in my mat time discussion. The zones of regulation have been a useful tool in our classroom to help students identify their emotions.
