Direct Instruction

Learning Intention -  Be able to know convert fractions, decimals and percentages.

Students were learning to convert fractions into decimals and fractions.  We also spent a lot of time working on a number line.

The follow up activity was learners explaining there thinking around converting fractions, decimals and percentages.  Make sure to check them out!

Reflection

My learners are really starting to enjoy fractions as it wasn't something they enjoyed learning about at the start of the unit.  They LOVED the materials, this helped them gain an understanding of the way we convert.  My Associate Principal (Toni Nua) gave me the idea of asking "Is the fraction less than or greater than 1?", she then mentioned using a number line gets learners to have a deeper understanding of where these different fractions are placed on a number line.

Things to note

This was a fun lesson, have a look at the Activities my learners did, their Vlogs are great!
