Direct Instruction
Learning Intention - Recraft our 'hook' to engage our audience.
During this lesson, learners read out their first sentence of their speech and have discussions around how they can make their first sentence more engaging for the audience.
Students will then read their first sentence out in our group.
Reflection
This lesson was different, was great seeing the children try and engage our audience! I definitely feel that I still talk way to much in my lessons. I'm having PD currently in teaching extended discussion, I'm hoping this will help me as I navigate through these lessons.
I was really excited to see my learners coming up with differnet creative ways to engage the audience about their topic! I LOVED the Rabbitohs idea from Prodeus, thought this was fantastic! This definitely got my other learners thinking outside the box of what they can say for their hook and different ways of delivering their speech.
Things to note
I had a play around with the mic settings, I'm trying to get it so it is just as loud for all my learners in the group rather than learners that are close to the mic.
