Direct Instruction
This video has a focus on the Learn Create Share process, in particular the Create. This video shows the children creating playwriting scripts, practicing them, and then performing them in front of the camera.
Children are learning to communicate positive messages to an audience through the Arts.
Reflection
With my team we spent some time choosing our small groups, we chose to push the children outside their comfort zone and put them with children they do not usually work it. This paid off, the children worked incredibly well together and enjoyed practicing and seeing their written script come to fruition. If more time was available using the green screen to its full potential for the children to change backgrounds would have been great for their learning. As the driving question was “How can we as storytellers communicate positive messages to an audience?” It is clear from their final product that they have all become storytellers and within their script have delivered a positive message.
The next steps for my learners would be to advance their editing skills on iMovie and like I said above use the green screen to change the setting within the story.

Instructions
The drama, dance, and music teaching resources below were used before the children started to create their projects. They were introduced to each area of the Arts and then were able to choose one of these areas to focus their projects on.
The planning document below was used by each group to come up with a clear plan as to what their final project would look like.
The playwriting lesson below was used to support the children in their writing. This was taught during writing time.
The final projects are all included in the Google Slide. The children have shared this on their blogs and then we have shared this on Hero (parent communication site) for them to see their final projects.
