This lesson shows tamariki learning the new digraph /ai/.

Tamariki then learn how to create a word cloud using Explain Everything. Tamariki generate kupu containing the sound /ck/ (previously learned) before moving into creating their own word cloud with kupu containing the digraph /ai/.

Reflection

A great create task to be used over the coming weeks. Tamariki struggled to generate kupu containing the sound /ai/ as this was day one of learning the new sound.

Consider using this as a day two or three task. Tamariki would have been exposed to a range of vocabulary and would be more able to generate those kupu.

Tamariki loved the session even though it was hard during independence. They enjoyed working together to find kupu and using a range of colours and fonts.

This is a create task that the group will use over four weeks. It will be part of their independent learn create share mahi on our learning site.
