The learning intention is to understand how we can be kaitiaki of natural resource by limiting what we consume in our everyday lives.
In this video you will see 'create' task. We recap 'What natural resources are, how they are consumed in a household and why we need to conserve these resources'. Teacher modelling how to plan a diorama on the iPad using Explain Everything. Tamariki then create their own plan before they make their diorama.
Reflection
This was a long kaupapa. Although tamariki were very engaged in the create and this did show their understanding of the kaupapa, there were many mini lessons that I needed to run as the kaupapa unfolded.
When there were a few of the same or similar questions, i would pause for a mini lesson.
Teina needed support from their tuākana throughout different stages of creating their dioramas.
Things to note
This kaupapa has run over 5 weeks with many mini learn create share opportunities. We also followed a few of the Think Earth lessons when learning about all of the different types of natural resources.
This create task is the first step in creating their dioramas that will be shared with whānau and the community at a later date.
