Direct Instruction

The learning intention for this lesson was to describe and continue a repeating and sequential patterns.

The video shows our lesson sequence for a whole class DMIC lesson

A DMIC lesson is broken into six key sections. Warm up, group norms/ture, launch, small group inquiry, sharing and connect. Throughout this video you will see snippets from each of the six sections.

Reflection

Tamariki were very engaged in the lesson. We tried new partners today. Some tamariki clashed. Need to focus on participation and sharing as the ture when working with new partners.

The connect was not very strong. We ran another exercise after this lesson to solidify the connect.

I did expect a deeper connection as this was the last lesson in this unit.

Things to note

There is no warm up in this video. We did do an activity where tamariki would hold classroom items and line up in a pattern.
