Direct Instruction
In this lesson children are learning to investigate and describe what is happening when oil and water are put together. You will see use going through the Scientific Method as a class, the children experimenting and sharing what they think is happening and why. You will see how we explore these ideas in more detail watching a video and playing a game.
Reflection
This was such a fun lesson and I loved the discussion and ideas the children had to share about what was happening and why. I enjoyed working with the children as a whole class and co-constructing the report which they will gain confidence in using throughout the term. It was great to see the language of science growing throughout the lesson from children thinking about gases and recognising the make up of water H20.
Things to note
This lesson was part of a team rotation day. This was the final rotation of the afternoon and the children were very excited.
