In this lesson you will see children sharing about emotions and how and why they feel them. You will see some games played to help us see and understand emotions. Children will classify emotions and consider what they might say when they feel them. Finally we will create some Mirror art to help us say kind thinking to each other. This lesson directly connects to the Mitey Mental Health Program.
Reflection
Learning about feelings is always a wonderful experience for me. Hearing what the children think and feel and how this impacts them is very eye opening. It was so positive to hear the children open up and say I have people I can go to for help and I know who they are. What I loved most about this lesson was the way in which the children were so in-touch with how they grouped emotions and the positive things they could say.
Things to note
This lesson took place in one day however over two learning blocks. The Art was completed only by a small umber of children who were left in class well the other visited Mrs Burton in Creative Space.
