Direct Instruction
In this lesson children are learning to identify parts of speech including, nouns (proper and common) and how to describe these nouns using adjectives to engage and audience and paint a picture.
In the video you will see children sharing what they have learned about nouns. We will dsicuss adjectives and watch a catchy video about them after which children will work in group and engage in discussions about what they are writing.
Reflection
This lesson was so much fun for both me as a teacher and the children. I loved the many opportunities we had to share both with the whole class and in smaller groups. It was really positive to see the children thinking about adjectives as a way to add description and detail to their stories. I personally loved the way the children showed joy in the writing process and were excited to write and come up with great language.
