Direct Instruction
This lesson share the final writing lesson I will do with my class at Pt England School. This lesson is a bit of a flash back to the many years I have been at Pt England School with the model I share being a story I wrote about my almost 8 years there. The children will listen and engage with this before using their own images to help them write about their favourite parts of the year so far.
Reflection
This lesson is so special to me and I think the learning can be summed up in the reflection from the childrens blogs:
Niah said "This task was a fun and good task to do at the same time, in this activity we got to choose 3 or a few more things we did in the year so we can write about it . I chose only three things which are our school picnic ,the time we mad slime and our fun day called inside our day . MY favourite one was the picnic because it was like a fun day but for the entire day without the teachers planning!"
Jilliane said "Today I did an activity about my year so far.In my story I put lots of my favourite moment of year 4.I had a hard time doing this because I had to write rhyming words.Do you have an excited time in school? Thank you bye!"
Elena said "Today I had to finish my writing and i had to write about this year so far This year has been a wonderful year because I liked it but I don’t like it this time because Mrs Carruthers is leaving everybody gonna miss her but i’m gonna miss her 100% because she was my favorite teacher."
Things to note:
This is my last episode. It is very heavy on the teacher talk as it is my sharing with my class and in some ways thanking them for all they have done.
