Direct Instruction
In this lesson we are building an idea of what our film festival movie could be about. We are learning to write a detailed script for our film festival movie and edit multiple stories to create one script. In the movie you will see the discussion that leads into us thinking about what we might do in our movie and what the kids think about old movies. This is followed by children writing scripts, sharing them and working together to make a final script. At the end you will se a few shots from our filming of our movie.
Reflection
The engagement kids had with this was huge. For me coming up with a film festival idea and writing a script can be a real challenge. By posing the question what could we film if I brought my dog in the children were hooked straight away. It was really positive seeing the children working in different groups and this lead to some great ideas which we eventually included in our movie, Dog Day. Due to the great success of this movie making we even made a second movie about a dinosaur based on a picture book we love.
Things to note:
The film will not become available until 8th November 2023.
