Direct Instruction
In this lesson children are learning to write like and author and describe feelings using similes and metaphors with narrative examples from their lives. You will see us step through thinking about emotions, sharing our feelings, planning or writing, writing and finally sharing with our year 2 buddies.
Reflection
Watching this lesson back I was so proud. I was proud of how far I have come as a teacher and how well this lesson flowed. I was also proud of the way in which the children took over the lead of the lesson becoming the teachers for our year two visitors. The quality of writing I got from this lesson was outstanding and I hope to find opportunities to write like this again in the future.
Things to note:
The audio recorder was not working properly for the first part of the lesson. This is why I used text to support the video.
