Direct Instruction

The learning intention for this lesson was for students to predict based on the cover and details in the story what might happen. I also focused on retelling, summarising and finding evidence in the text as we read. 

The video shows some of the main components of our reading program. Starting with shared reading and discussion of emotion connected to our mental health learning and the Mitey Program with integrated practice of spelling. Followed sharing about children's home reading and a guided reading group.
