Reflection
I really noticed the tone of the students after this lesson. The students all got a personal boost from this lesson and it was lovely to see them all feel appreciated. I think that this lesson would be really effective in term one, as you’re building your class culture, as well. This lesson was part of our weekly virtues lesson, this is where we focus in on one of our school virtues which is the theme for two weeks. Next time, I think it would be good to look into a digital way that we could create warm fuzzies as a class. I shared this lesson because I think that this could be taught in a non-religious context as well, with a health curriculum focus.
Things to note
This lesson followed on from a previous reading group session. In the previous session we focused on critical literacy and asked critical question about the story. We also read the text for the first time in this session.
