The learning intention for students to learn how to write diamante poems by finding verbs, adjectives and nouns when exploring our outside surroundings.
The video shows the students accessing prior knowledge about diamante poems and exploring outside to find inspiration.
The students then wrote their diamante poems using the adjectives, verbs and nouns that they had found outside. We shared our writing throughout the writing process and to Edu Blogs.
Reflection
The students (and I) enjoyed the outside learning that happened as a part of this lesson. I think that the students found the template and the worksheet for outside helpful when completing this task. It was great to see the students use new and interesting language in their writing.
For next time I think it would have been useful for the students to create their own template or art to show their Diamante poem (This is what I would do next time if we had more time).

Instructions
This slideshow is a way for them to access rewindable learning that they can use when considering what they need use in their diamante poems. I used this slideshow as a reference when I was teaching as well. The template was used for students to structure their writing. The worksheet was used when the students went outside to record their ideas and order their thinking.
