Reflection
I think that this lesson went really well. The students loved being able to create a piece of art and really enjoyed learning all about Claude Monet in the process. It was a very messy lesson with a lot of paint everywhere so I would make sure that next time I have something down on the tables for an easier clean up. I had tried to do this art lesson previously in the term but the paper ripped really easily so needed to find some good quality masking tape along with thicker paper to complete the art on. There were still a few rips on the papers but no where near as bad as the first time around. This was such a fun lesson to film as well I did this in one day with the focus on learning all about Claude Monet in the morning and then moving onto the art towards the middle of the day. It was a bit rushed as our art exhibition was two days away but I am really pleased with how the art turned out and the students were able to see their art on display which was fantastic.
Things to note
This lesson was filmed when covid restrictions were lifted so mask wearing is now personal choice for the students and teachers, you will see that some of my students still choose to wear masks during class time and some choose not to. I lost some of my microphone recordings (the one in the middle of the art lesson) so there is a lot of background noise unfortunately but I did want to include it as it outlines how I set up the painting and how to use the sponges. This was also filmed in week 10 of term with lots of things going on so the students were becoming a bit restless and there was lots going on around us. There are less changes in camera angles as most of the direct teaching and students reading were towards the front camera.
