CoA Session Dialogue 1 T1.mp4

Direct Instruction: Using Dialogue

Students are learning how to accurately include dialogue in their writing to help the audience relate to their writing.

This video shows an introductory lesson on dialogue where students can identify who is talking (in an image) and match it up to the dialogue in the narrative. Helping students to identify how dialogue is structured in a piece of writing.

Extended Plan Here

Reflection: I will be returning to this and how we can include dialogue in stories as it is a great way to encourage students to use paragraphs. I would also get them to act it to help them identify when it changes, again assisting with the identify the need for a new paragraph.

Things to note: I would have like to have all students do this on their chrome book, however after the holidays there were some hiccups. I also used dictation to help students focus and prevent lose of place when moving from projected image to books.
