Direct Instruction
The lesson focus today was giving the learners an introduction to static images.
We will look at different images and discuss what theme or message is being portrayed by the image.
Learners worked through Google Slides on this activity analysing different images.
Credit to Danni Stone for the activity and idea!
Reflection
This was a fun lesson to teach, we had lots of rich discussion about my learners' thoughts and opinions on each image. this made them think in depth about all the different attributes an image has; colour, font, image placement, symbolism, meaning etc. I was really impressed with the vocabulary my learners shared when they were talking about the images. My learners were constantly going back to the colour slide to check what each colour represented. My learners found it hard to understand image placement and why that was important, however, understood most of the other concepts.
Things to note
My class was rather noisy in this lesson, have to remind them to keep the noise level down. Also, am unsure what the crackle in the microphone was. I was only able to foucs the camera on 3 of the students unfortunately one of my students was only in one angle.
