Reflection

I was happy with the new knowledge the children got through this reading workshop. Some of the children had some prior knowledge to share about Comets and this was good to see. I continue to try and build upon those reading strategies of drawing out the keywords, and key pieces of information. The children need to start tyring to do this more often, I need to focus on how I can get them to do this as part of the workshop. I was leading many parts of the conversation, where I would like the children to be able to do this. I am using the discussion prompt cards to support my questioning but need to start to embed this into the reading workshop for the children.

Above on the right-hand side is the link to the reading site, which the children use to find all their work. Below are the three different readings for the week. The focus question for the fortnight was "What else is out there?". Below is four different pieces of work the children had to create a fact file on either Comets, Black Holes or Supernovas.
