Direct Instruction: In this lesson we are learning that our options and ideas can influence others and we are learning to write letters to share our positive thoughts about others. This lesson has multiple parts that cover a few days. The lesson centres around two books A Little Spot of Kindness By Diane Alber and Have You Filled a Bucket Today? A Guide to Daily Happiness for Kids by Carol McCloud. The children create their own buckets and write letters to their peers to show kindness.

Lesson Plan

Reflection: This lesson was so much fun and made some great links to the health learning we have been doing arund emotions. The story Have You Filled a Bucket Today?: A Guide to Daily Happiness for Kids by Carol McCloud really connected with the children. It was interesting to see how different children went about fillig their buckets and what they noticed about their peers that perhaps I hadn't in some cases.

Things to note: This lesson has two parts that build on each other and therefor it took place over two days. The audio quality is not ideal.
