Direct Instruction: This is a writing lesson in which we focused on thinking about what the world might be like in the year 3000. Our learning intention were We are learning write an imaginative diary from the year 3000. We are learning to plan and discuss what we might write. In the video you will see the motivation, discussion, planning, sharing back and feedback.

Reflection

The children enjoyed the concept of this lesson but found it very challenging to write as if they were in another year. While they all had great plans they often forgot to go back to them and this lead to stories about the weekend. Through sharing and feedback children became more comfortable writing about the different time period. I felt that this was not my best lesson and if I had modelled more clearly the writing process the children may have had better success.
