Direct Instruction / Te Akoranga
The learning intentions for this lesson was for the students to understand how to thoroughly and effectively clean their hands and then to create their own video demonstrating to others how to do the same. This was filmed during Level 4, so it is an insight into how my classes we were run from home.
Ko te tino whainga o te akoranga nei he mātaki me te ako me pēhea te hōroi tika i ngā ringa. Kia mōhio mai i tū tēnei akoranga i roto i te Taumata 4 o Aotearoa i raro i ngā pānga o te mate uruta.
This video shows the children who attended this online Google Meets hui with me watching an instructional hand washing video, and then going over how they can recreate their own instructional hand washing video using the app Seesaw.
E whakaatu ana tēnei whitiahua i ngā akonga i tae mai ki tēnei hui Ataata Kukara e mātaki anai tētahi whitiahua mō te hōroi ringa, kātahi ka whai tohutohu rātou mō te hanga i tō rātou ake whitiahua i runga i te taupānga Pioioi.
Reflection / Arotake
This was something we had watched and gone over before in class earlier in the term but we had only slightly touched on it. The good thing about this task was that it was so relevant to what was happening in the world and the kids were really into it.
Things to note
My class and myself were still adjusting to teaching and learning from home so the management and noise levels in this video make things a little difficult to hear or make sense of some of the conversations being had. We hadn't downloaded Google Meets Gridview yet so a lot of the time the camera view is on me, which could be a little boring to watch.
