Class OnAir 2019 Scratch 101.mov

Direct Instruction

The learning intention for this lesson was to become familiar with the software 'Scratch'. In particular to become confident at using the drawing tools within Scratch.

Reflection

What I have noticed when using scratch over the last couple of years, is that when kids begin to use the templates and clip-art style images, that they lose interest and don't stay as invested in their projects. Because of this, I have found that insisting that they draw their own art for ALL projects, has been far more successful.

Things to note

This episode is structured differently. Rather than a filmed lesson that I taught in the classroom, I have tried to talk to the video so that you can see my thinking behind the lesson that I have taught - a different perspective.
