15 Class Onair Film Festival.mov

Direct Instruction

The learning intention for this lesson was to write quality blog comments.

Every year each class in our community of schools submits a movie for the Manaiakalani film festival. We get to see these movies shown on the big screen at Slyvia Park Hoyts.

We also get to rewatch all our favourite movies from our own school, and other schools in our community on our blogs. This lesson is the follow up to this event where we leave comments on the movies we enjoyed.

Reflection

Because we revisit this lesson frequently it went really well, and the students got straight into it. You can see though that everyone (myself included) were quite tired. This was the perfect 'mood' if you will for watching and enjoying movies for the afternoon.

Our own movie received over 200 comments and I was really impressed that some of my students began responding to comments without being asked.
