Direct Instruction
We are learning to describe a setting using our five senses. We are learning to use correct punctuation in our paragraph.
The focus of this lesson was for children to discuss the gifted language and use it in a detail description of the setting of the story. They are also learning how to start their descriptions off with a bang. We also started to talk about smilies and how these can be used effectively.
Reflection
I really enjoyed this lesson, as did the learners they found lots of success in completing a description in the one lesson. The digital and physical nature of the lesson meant that all learners were supported and could achieve their goals. I found the whole class, small group and peer to peer conversations and reflections valuable and aim to do more of this in the future.
