Reflection
I loved the concept of this lesson and I was so excited to teach it, however in doing so noticed that while the group were engaged I don't think they were as excited as I was. Perhaps I needed more of a hook into the lesson instead of jumping straight into discussion. I am still finding that there is a lot of learning to be done around talking about our learning and going deeper into the why, why did I find it hard? Why do I like that? this was not achieved as well as I had hoped, in this lesson.
As it was the end of the term and the whole space (52 children) were animating the noise is slightly louder then I like for filming. I noticed watching myself that I also got louder in this lesson and I know that it not the way to deal with noise but I guess it is instinct we all want to be heard to we lift our volume. I will continue to work on this and make sure I film earlier in the term next term to avoid the busy, excited and somewhat noisier last week of term.
Things to note
I have had to cut a few shots in funny ways due to children walking into shots to keep the filming focused on the learning. You can still see a few feet walking behind some of the shot. You may also hear my co-teacher teaching in the space like I said above the noise level is louder in this lesson for both teachers.
