Ep 14 In My Heart.mov

Direct Instruction:

The learning intention for this video are: discuss emotions and how they relate our everyday experiences.

During this lesson, you will see the students play a warm up game sharing how they feel about certain things and situations. Off camera, we will read a story and discuss the feelings that are discussed in the story. Then, the students will choose a feeling and think a time in their life they felt that way before moving into our own statue museum to share our feelings and why we are feeling that way.

Extended Plan Here

Reflection: This lesson was a lot of fun and a great way for us to explore emotions in another context after we had our time with our Mitey Mentor last week. The students really enjoyed being able to get up and move around and it was great to see that many felt safe and confident when describing how they felt and why. There were two students who had amazing poses but didn't quite feel comfortable sharing, which was fine. It is also important to note, that while I cropped myself out when the students were presenting, I was standing next to each student as they spoke so they didn't feel alone speaking to the class.
